OMH offers programmes for children of different age groups

OMH focuses on the Holistic Development in each child.

PRESCHOOL

According to experts, 80% of your child’s mental development takes place before they are 8 years old. The learning programme you choose for your child in these years makes a huge difference.

At OMH, we have a three year programme in our Montessori environment (Primary) where children are seen to be calm and peaceful, hard-working, responsible, independent and respectful towards everyone and everything. They are absorbed in their work because they choose what to do, within boundaries. Early years’ experience helps them build the most solid foundation, they become self-disciplined and begin believing in themselves.

TODDLERS

18 months to 2 years

As this group emerges from babyhood, its first and foremost need is to settle down- for which, it requires both a stimulating and a nourishing environment to develop the child’s physical, social and emotional skills. Simple activities and manipulative plays help the child gain confidence and hence prepare him/her for further learning.

2 years to 3 years

In this age group, the children are rapidly developing into competent, independent beings who are ready to take on new challenges. Our excellent programme for 2years to 3 years old children is designed to meet, support and develop their emerging skills. Our curriculum develops essential social, emotional and cognitive skills. It also includes practical life skills to help develop their motor skills, sense of order, independence, concentration and responsibility of self and environment. As they learn fastest through their senses, they are involved in activities that stimulate their acquisition senses. Activities are mainly hands-on, fun and concrete at this stage, which sets the basis for further development in abstract concepts.

Early number concepts and language skills will be imparted in a fun and engaging way. Foundation is also laid at this stage for well-executed work and social habits.

PRESCHOOLERS

3 years to 4 years

In continuation from early learning experience, children of this age group are able to work with more complex exercises in a more disciplined manner. Other than Practical Life and Sensorial activities, Arithmetic and Language activities are introduced and developed in fun and manipulative ways. Children are exploding into writing as well towards the later part of this year. They will also be involved in early science and cultural activities, which will serve to introduce them to the natural environment around them.

4 to 6 years

Children’s interest in learning is further nurtured by helping them further explore Language including writing and reading, arithmetic, sensorial, practical life skills and the study of plants, animals, geography including land and water forms, continents and oceans. In the last year of the programme (5 – 6), the children turn into role models for the younger ones and are ready for further formal learning.
