Early childhood years are crucial for our existence as adults. The Absorbent Mind is a unique mental process that allows the child to absorb knowledge instantly and effortlessly. The child absorbs everything from the environment whether simple or complex.

Art is one of the many ways children express themselves. Art is a way for children to communicate their feelings. It is through art that children develop their fine motor skills. In the Montessori environment, we provide open-ended art activities that help children explore and use their creativity.

Most 2- to 6-year-old children are in the fundamental movement phase of motor development. They are also in the Sensitive Period for movement. The sports activities done with them during these years facilitate children’s acquisition of mature locomotor skills, object control skills, and stability, all of which are developmentally appropriate fundamental movements for young children. Through practice, the child further develops order, concentration, coordination, and independence.

MONTESSORI TEACHERS TRAINING

OMH has a comprehensive and accredited Montessori Training course which is available to everyone who is passionate to work with children of 2 to 6 years.

Our little one was inducted into OMH at the young age of 2 years. The teachers and staff at OMH were extremely supportive and recognised the fact that he had early milestones. They took adequate care to match him with children of his capability rather than age group so that his intellect and interest was piqued. My son Advaith Pandalai studied at Our Montessori House between 2008-10. The two years helped Advaith turn from a shy two year old to a confident, polite and self assured four year old and it still holds him in good stead. We picked out OMH from a clutch of other Montessori schools because of two key reasons, very strong management and great teaching staff.
Both these hypothesis got validated amply over the two years our son spent at OMH.
Special mention to Deepakshi Ma’am who treated Neil like her own son and made him comfortable to the school environment. Neil used to call her Mumma at times when he was very young.

OMH follows true Montessori principles and is very well organised in every aspect of running the school impeccably. They have a creative and clean campus and a very empathetic care staff of Didis.
Some other pointers:
-Homely food and a no junk policy
-Well designed classrooms with tons of activity equipment
-Their Sports Day is an event to look forward to
-very good focus on extra curriculars and art & craft
-weekly report is super detailed and a delight to read. Haven’t seen a better designed curriculum even in bigger schools.
